Our Commitments

Commitment is a long word with a clear and powerful obligation. To be committed to something or to someone requires more than what is occasionally expected and what is usually required. However, today it hard to find commitment in our world of part-time participation that produces part-time commitment. It is no wonder that the word today carries so many qualifications. However, at Saint John we try very hard to make our deeds match our words. We have discovered that God has never given up on humanity and we must never give up on our brothers and sisters. We must say yes when it is convenient to say no and we must work with our hands, hearts, mind and feet when it is easier not to show up. As we work to help you become a better person, we know that our efforts in a little way comes back to us and makes us an even more prepared congregation to be a helping hand. May you be guided by the Scriptures from the Holy inspired word of the living Bible. We offer to you from the Psalms - Number 23.

The 23rd Psalm provides that:

The Lord is my Shepherd

That is a Relationship

I shall not want

That is Supply

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures

That is Rest

He leadeth me beside still waters

That is Refreshment

He restoreth my soul

That is Healing

He leadeth me in the path of righteousness

That is Guidance

For His name sake

That is Purpose

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death

That is Testing

I will fear no evil

That is Protection

For Thou art with me

That is Faithfulness

Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me

That is Discipline

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies

That is Hope

Thou anointest my head with oil

That is Consecration

My cup runneth over

That is Abundance

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life

That is Blessing

And I shall dwell in the house of the Lord

That is Security

Forever

That is Eternity
